Puducherry Congress chief resigns after poll defeat
Puducherry Congress's chief V Vaithilingam resigned from his post, taking moral responsibility for the party's defeat in Assembly polls. The former CM and current Lok Sabha MP was himself defeated in Thattanchavady constituency by AINRC leader and CM N Rangasamy. AINRC-led NDA won 18 seats, while Congress won one. Vaithilingam has expressed his desire to work as ordinary party worker.
