Pune police book Saraswat Bank Chairman, 7 others in cheating case

Pune police have booked Saraswat Bank Chairman Gautam Thakur, MD Smita Sandhane and six others in an alleged cheating case. The bank has said that this is an attempt to prevent the confiscation of properties of defaulting borrower Orange Medicare and Research Centre. The complainant, who is a major shareholder in the company, claimed that the bank defrauded ₹2.5 crore.
