Pune police launch AI pilot to speed up FIR registration

Pune Police have begun a pilot of an AI-based FIR registration system at Baner Police Station. The AI identifies complaint type, suggests legal sections, and drafts the FIR. Citizens can also use voice-to-text. Senior Inspector Chandrashekhar Jadhav said the process, currently taking 2-3 hours, may drop to 20-30 minutes, enhancing transparency and efficiency.
