Punjab CM acquitted in Amritsar Improvement Trust scam case

Punjab CM Amarinder Singh and 17 others were acquitted of all charges on Friday in the 2008 Amritsar Improvement Trust (AIT) scam case. The case involved the granting of an exemption for transferring over a 32-acre land of the AIT to a private developer. "Politics has no place for such motivated action against opponents," the CM tweeted after the verdict.
