Punjab farmer grows avocados in 47°C heat, sells at ₹500/kg

Breaking away from Punjab's wheat-paddy cycle, Gursimran Singh Dhanoa grows organic avocados in the scorching 47°C heat of Malerkotla. While avocados are mostly grown in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka due to their moderate temperatures, Gursimran has perfected techniques to grow them in Punjab. He sells the premium fruit at ₹500/kg.
