Punjab govt allocates ₹1,793 crore for sports to tackle drug menace

Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said the government has allocated ₹1,793 crore for sports to combat the drug menace and promote sports. He said previous governments spent under ₹150 crore, leading to poor infrastructure and youth drifting towards drugs. He added the current government has steadily raised spending to build playgrounds and modern stadiums, showing encouraging results.
