Punjab govt issues show-cause notice to employees over mass leave

Punjab state government ordered a show-cause notice to be issued after over 3 lakh employees went on a mass strike on Thursday over non-payment of Dearness Allowance (DA) arrears. Department heads were asked to compile a list of absent employees for disciplinary action to be taken against them. The 'maha hartal' strike was organised by over 150 employees' bodies.
