Punjab imposes 1 year-ban on sale and production of analogue paneer

The Punjab government has imposed a one-year ban on the manufacture, storage, transport, distribution and sale of analogue paneer across the state. The move follows inspections that found food businesses making paneer-like products using vegetable oil, fat and other non-dairy ingredients instead of milk. Maharashtra, Gujarat and Chhattisgarh are among the states that have also banned it.
