Punjab logs 717 stubble burning cases; Tarn Taran tops list

Punjab Pollution Control Board recorded 717 stubble burning incidents as of October 27, with Tarn Taran leading at 318 cases. Officials confirmed burning at 313 sites after inspecting 664 locations. Environmental compensation totalling ₹7.80 lakh was imposed in Tarn Taran and 64 FIRs were registered. A helpline (+91 79737 27514) has been launched to offer farmers crop residue alternatives.
