Numerous areas in Punjab on Thursday witnessed a bandh called by Sikh organisations, after clashes between police and protestors claimed two lives and left 75 wounded. Educational institutions remained closed and transport services disturbed, and 150 agitators were imprisoned in Ludhiana. Punjab has been facing unrest after the Sikh holy book, the Guru Granth Sahib, was allegedly desecrated.
