Punjab Police officer, accused of extorting $400,000 from US-based family, arrested

Punjab Police arrested Gurinderjit Singh Nagra, ex-SHO of Tanda police station, days after US's FBI accused him of conspiring with Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang to extort $400,000 (about ₹3.85 crore) from an LA-based NRI family. FBI alleged he threatened to falsely implicate the family's relatives in India in a murder case. This was revealed during US & Canada's Operation Hard Ball.
