Punjab reports first death linked to SIR after teacher ends life

The first death in Punjab due to alleged stress caused by SIR exercise was reported from Gurdaspur when a government school teacher ended his life on Tuesday. Gurpreet Singh informed a teacher colleague that he was under tremendous mental stress due to the SIR exercise and was going to commit suicide.
