Punjab reports its first bird flu case, culling process started

Punjab reported its first confirmed case of bird flu today. "NIHSAD Bhopal confirmed the samples sent from two poultry farms at Mohali as positive cases of bird flu," Punjab Chief Secretary Vini Mahajan said. "As a preventive measure, the animal husbandry department has started the process of culling with all precautions. Surveillance and sampling have been stepped up," he added.
