Punjab terminates 253 Master Cadre teachers after merit revision

Punjab's School Education Department terminated 253 Master Cadre teachers on Wednesday, nearly three years after their 2023–24 appointments, after revised merit scores fell below cut-off following a Punjab and Haryana High Court-ordered review. The termination orders, issued via official login IDs, take effect 10 days after receipt. Teachers' union called it "a black day" for education.
