Punjab tweaks election department rules ahead of assembly polls

Punjab Cabinet, led by CM Bhagwant Mann, approved amendment to Service Rules of the Election Department to strengthen state's election machinery ahead of next Punjab Legislative Assembly elections. The move is aimed at removing administrative bottlenecks, facilitating smooth conduct of ongoing SIR and filling crucial vacancies in department to ensure adequate manpower for elections.
