Punjab witnesses 9 murders in first seven days of new year

Nine murders, including those of three women, have taken place in Punjab in the first week of 2026, with opposition parties questioning the law and order situation in the state. Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav and AAP media cell in-charge Baltej Pannu, in separate statements issued on Tuesday, insisted that the law and order situation was fully under control.
