Punjabi novelist & ‘writer of movements’ Jaswant Singh Kanwal passes away at 100

Punjabi novelist and Sahitya Akademi Awardee, Jaswant Singh Kanwal, passed away aged 100 at his house in Dhudike village in Moga district in Punjab on Saturday morning after a brief illness. Known as the 'writer of movements', Kanwal penned nearly 100 books and novels. He had received the Sahitya Akademi Award for his novel 'Taushali Di Hanso' in 1997.
