Putin orders one-time $3,200 payment for mobilised & contract soldiers

Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered a one-time payment of $3,200 for contract soldiers and those who have been mobilised to fight in Ukraine, the Kremlin said on Thursday. The payment was designed "to provide additional measures of social support", Putin said in a decree. The minimum monthly wage for contract soldiers is $2,700, almost three times the national average.
