Putin praises India, says 'it has never followed diktat of another country'

Russian President Vladimir Putin praised India while speaking at the St Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). "Naturally, India...has never followed any diktat from abroad...Sovereignty and sovereign decision-making can never be contested," he said. The remark comes a day after he said attempts to pressure India over its ties with Russia were "useless".
