Putin said 'They will hang me' if I end Ukraine war without capturing Donbas: Report

Russian President Vladimir Putin fears that ending war in Ukraine without taking control of entire Donbas region could spark backlash from Russia's elite, The Economist reported. Putin said "they will hang me" at one point. He is guided by belief that negotiated end to conflict would be seen as weakness and a weak leader cannot survive in Russia, report added.
