Putin wanted to wipe out Wagner chief amid mutiny bid: Lukashenko

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin wanted to "wipe out" Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin during the mutiny attempt, adding that he convinced Putin against it. Putin in a recent address said Russia's security services had "prevented a civil war" during the mutiny. Lukashenko brokered a deal between Putin and Prigozhin to stop the rebellion.
