The 19-year-old Badminton star, PV Sindhu was awarded the CNN-IBN Indian of the Year, 2013 (Sports) award on Friday. She was conferred with the award as on 10 August 2013, Sindhu became the first ever Indian woman to win a medal in singles at the World Championships (India's first singles medal since Prakash Padukone won bronze in 1983).
