Qatar Airways to fire 'substantial' number of employees due to COVID-19 crisis

Qatar Airways has announced it'll fire a "substantial" number of employees including cabin crew members as the aviation industry has come to a halt due to COVID-19. "The global outlook for our industry looks grim and many airlines are closing or significantly reducing operations," its CEO Akbar Al Baker said. Qatar might rehire staff once the pandemic is under control.
