Qatar secured their maiden FIFA World Cup point, drawing 1-1 with Switzerland in their Group B match in San Francisco. Qatar captain Boualem Khoukhi headed in the equaliser in the 94th minute after Switzerland’s Breel Embolo had converted a first-half penalty. Qatar, who are featuring in their second FIFA World Cup, had lost all three matches as hosts in 2022.
