Qualcomm fights Arm, may halt royalties for 5 years

Qualcomm, which acquired Nuvia in 2021, is in a legal battle with Arm, alleging Arm failed to provide promised chip-testing tools. Qualcomm now seeks to stop paying royalties for up to five years. If successful, Arm could lose ~9% of its FY 2026 revenue, as per Intellectia. A court is also examining Arm's fairness in negotiating new chip technology.
