Quarantine, genome sequencing for those arriving from South Africa in Mumbai

Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar said that every person returning from South Africa will be quarantined on arrival at Mumbai airport and samples of positive passengers will be sent for genome sequencing. This comes amid fears over new COVID-19 variant 'Omicron', first detected in South Africa. Earlier, Centre resumed regular international flights and released a list of 'at-risk' countries.
