Radars mounted on drones could find water on Mars: Study

Researchers from the University of Arizona have tested drone-mounted ground-penetrating radar on debris-covered glaciers in Alaska and Wyoming to prepare for future exploration of Mars. The study showed the system can map the thickness of rocky debris over subsurface ice. The capability could help future missions to Mars search for water ice without blind drilling.
