Radio signals from comet 12P/Pons-Brooks detected

Astronomers have detected radio emissions from the returning comet 12P/Pons-Brooks using China's Tianma Radio Telescope. Measurements revealed that at 1 AU, the comet releases over five tonnes of water vapour per second, doubling during outbursts. They also achieved the most distant, first radio detection of ammonia molecules in a Halley-type comet with three-sigma confidence.
