Ajinkya Rahane-led Mumbai defeated Himachal Pradesh by three wickets to win Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) for the first time ever. Batting first, Himachal Pradesh posted a total of 143/8, with Ekant Sen top-scoring with 37(29). Mumbai chased down the target in 19.3 overs, with Sarfaraz Khan scoring 36*(31). Both Himachal and Mumbai were featuring in their first SMAT final.
