Indian Railways loaded 142.21 million tonnes of freight in June, up 4% year-on-year, while freight earnings rose 3%. Growth was led by fertilisers, iron ore, clinker and coal, with Q1 freight crossing 419 million tonnes. Passenger traffic also increased to 63.81 crore as Railways expanded Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat services.
