Railway guard-turned-writer Asok Haldar honoured with Padma Shri

Asok Kumar Haldar from West Bengal, a former railway guard, has been honoured with the Padma Shri for his contribution in the field of Art. He has authored 13 books and 3,000 articles on social consciousness and is a perceptive observer of society with noteworthy books on philosophical themes. He has been writing for the last 30 years.
