Railways offers 50% freight discount for Kashmir apple trade

Northern Railway has proposed a 50% rebate on return freight charges for transporting Kashmir apples and horticultural produce by rail. Under the scheme, advance booking of parcel coaches for both directions would cost only 1.5 times the normal freight rate. A joint meeting was held in Srinagar with horticulture officials and cargo aggregators to facilitate the initiative.
