Railways to spend ₹9,000 crore for multi-tracking 300 km route

Indian Railways has approved three multi-tracking projects worth about ₹9,072 crore to add roughly 300 km of enhanced track across Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand. The work has been targeted for completion by 2030-31. The expansion, via doubling and third-fourth lines, aims to reduce congestion, improve train punctuality and freight capacity.
