Raj, MP sarpanches 'broker' kids into begging in Guj; keep 20% of their earnings

The Ahmedabad Crime Branch busted an interstate child trafficking racket in which village sarpanches in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh acted as middlemen and procured children for begging in Gujarat. The sarpanches allegedly helped syndicates identify poor families for money. They kept much of the payment and also "pocketed 20% of the children's daily earnings" a senior crime branch officer said.
