A Tomar Rajput king in the late 15th century fell in love with a woman of a lower caste. Unheard of in those times, but Raja Man Singh Tomar of Gwalior, was besotted with a beautiful Gujjar girl called Mrignayani. She was brave as well. She had fought Ghiyas-ud-din Khilji's men when he had sent them to get her.
