Anti-terrorism Squad chief Rakesh Maria has been appointed as the new police commissioner of Mumbai. After the voluntary retirement of Satyapal Singh on Jan-30, the post had become vacant. Notably, Rakesh Maria, who belongs to the 1981 IPS batch, had cracked the twin blasts of Gateway of India and Zaveri Bazar in 2003.
