Ram Rahim, who's in jail for raping female disciples, seeks parole

Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, who's serving 20-year term for raping his female disciples and for a journalist's murder, has sought 20-day release from jail. The self-styled godman's plea comes before Haryana elections. He's often accused of trying to influence his followers for elections. Since being sentenced in 2017, Singh has been out of prison 10 times.
