Raman had booked ticket for Nobel even before announcement

Indian scientist, CV Raman had booked a ticket to Sweden to receive his Nobel Prize even before the year's prizes were announced. The scientist had been hoping for a Nobel Prize since 1928 and was confident enough to win the award in 1930. Raman, who was born on November 7, 1888, was the first Indian Nobel Laureate in science.
