Ramanujan's pi formulae has links to high-energy physics: Study

A study led by IISc found that mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan's more-than-a-century-old formulae to calculate the value of pi (roughly calculated as 3.14) has links to mathematics underlying logarithmic conformal field theories. Researchers said this link enables efficient calculations in high-energy physics, in phenomena such as turbulence and percolation and in the study of black holes.
