Ramjet-assisted artillery shell developed, to extend range by 50%

IIT Madras has developed and tested ramjet-propelled 155 mm artillery shells that can extend the range of existing guns by nearly 50%, offering an upgrade for Indian Armed Forces. During trials, Advanced Towed Artillery Gun System (ATAGS) recorded an increase from 40 km to nearly 70 km, while the Dhanush gun recorded an increase from 30 km to 55 km.
