Rare active Octopus nursery discovered in Pacific Ocean
Researchers have discovered an active octopus nursery nearly 3 km below the surface of the Pacific Ocean. This is the third deep-sea octopus nursery ever discovered. The octopus is potentially a new species of Muusoctopus, a genus of small-to-medium sized octopus without an ink sac, scientists said. They observed hundreds of octopuses brooding viable eggs and watched their babies hatch.
