Rare brain disorder post chickenpox successfully treated

Doctors in Chennai saved a 53-year-old woman with a rare, life-threatening brain disease called varicella encephalitis, which she developed after chickenpox. She developed severe brain inflammation, bleeding, and a dangerous blood clot. Brain pressure-relief surgery, antiviral treatment, and multidisciplinary management helped her recover. She was discharged after approximately 40 days.
