Rare Brain Infection: Timely surgery helps 31-year-old walk again
A 31-year-old Gujarat woman with severe headache, weakness and repeated seizures was found to have a rare brain infection called cerebral melioidosis. Doctors at Wockhardt Hospitals, Mumbai, performed emergency surgery to remove the infected material and relieve brain pressure. After targeted antibiotics, rehabilitation and skull reconstruction, she recovered and can now walk with support.
