Rare Kerala banana plant grows dual-coloured fruits

A banana plant at Noorul Huda Madrasa in Kerala's Kappil Kizhakku has produced a single bunch with both green and red fruits. Agricultural experts say the rare colour variation is caused by genetic phenomenon called chimera, linked to cell mutations during growth. Despite the different colours, experts confirmed the bananas are safe to eat and have normal taste and nutrition.
