Rare salt formations appear along the Great Salt Lake

Rare salt formations have been documented for the first time on the shores of the Great Salt Lake. Scientists claim that the formations could yield insights about salt structures found on Mars. "That powder will eventually get blown away or dissolve into the lake," said Elliot Jagniecki, a geologist with the Utah Geological Survey.
