Rare Southern aurora captured from space after solar flare

NASA astronaut Jessica Meir shared a timelapse from a SpaceX Dragon spacecraft attached to the International Space Station, showing the Southern aurora glowing above Earth. The aurora was linked to a recent solar event. The video shows charged solar particles lighting up Earth’s atmosphere in green and purple hues from orbit above Earth’s limb.
