Rare transit of Mercury to take place on November 11

A rare transit of Mercury will take place on November 11, when the Solar System's smallest planet will pass directly between Earth and Sun. Mercury's last transit occurred in 2016 and the next one is supposed to happen in 2032. The transit begins at 1235 GMT, when the edge of Mercury will touch the Sun, and ends at 1804 GMT.
