Rare US declaration of independence copy found in UK archives

A rare surviving 1776 copy of the US Declaration of Independence has been discovered at The National Archives in the UK. Found by a volunteer among Royal Navy records, the historic document was captured during the American Revolutionary War and remained hidden for nearly 250 years before undergoing conservation for public display.
