RBI has absorbed nearly half of ₹11 trillion in liquidity through forex interventions. Banks are temporarily parking funds in government bonds. RBI is also directing banks to clear pending cross-border trades, simplify processes for foreign portfolio investors, and expand retail access to forex and government securities ahead of new payment rules from October 1.
