RBI revises guidelines for opening deposit accounts of minors

RBI has revised the guidelines for opening and operating bank deposit accounts of minors. "Minors above such an age limit not less than 10 years...may be allowed to open and operate savings/term deposit accounts independently," a circular said. "The banks shall ensure that accounts of minors, whether operated independently or through a guardian, aren't allowed to be overdrawn," it stated.
